Health & Safety Manager (12–18 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Based in Walsall, West Midlands (Office & Site-Based, Monday–Friday)

Search² is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with a highly regarded UK manufacturer and engineering organisation to appoint a Health & Safety Manager on a 12–18-month fixed-term contract.
This hands-on role will see you develop and embed safety best practice across all operations while mentoring a junior team member — supporting their progression towards a future management position.

What you’ll be doing
Leading the company’s health and safety strategy, plans and policies.
Conducting site inspections, risk assessments and training to maintain compliance and engagement.
Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Ensuring compliance with legislation, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems.
Reporting on performance and driving continuous improvement through data-led insight.
Managing relationships with external stakeholders including insurers, auditors and accreditation bodies.
Mentoring and developing a junior health and safety team member.
What you’ll need
Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment as a Health & Safety Manager / Advisor.
NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and sound understanding of UK H&S legislation.
Familiarity with ISO management systems (45001 / 9001 / 14001).
Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Organised, pragmatic, and confident working autonomously.
