Search² is delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with a highly regarded UK manufacturer and engineering organisation to appoint a Health & Safety Manager on a 12–18-month fixed-term contract.


This hands-on role will see you develop and embed safety best practice across all operations while mentoring a junior team member — supporting their progression towards a future management position.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading the company’s health and safety strategy, plans and policies.

  • Conducting site inspections, risk assessments and training to maintain compliance and engagement.

  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems.

  • Reporting on performance and driving continuous improvement through data-led insight.

  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders including insurers, auditors and accreditation bodies.

  • Mentoring and developing a junior health and safety team member.


What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment as a Health & Safety Manager / Advisor.

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and sound understanding of UK H&S legislation.

  • Familiarity with ISO management systems (45001 / 9001 / 14001).

  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Organised, pragmatic, and confident working autonomously.
