Search² is delighted to be working exclusively with a highly respected boutique Health & Safety Consultancy based in the North West of England, supporting them with the appointment of a Health & Safety Consultant as part of a long-term succession plan.

The opportunity
This Health & Safety Consultant role represents a succession hire. The current Managing Director joined the business in this same position and progressed through the organisation into the MD role. With retirement planned within the next five years, the consultancy is now seeking a capable and motivated Health & Safety professional who can follow a similar journey.
That said, the business is continuing to grow. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality Health & Safety consultancy but do not necessarily want to run a business in the future, applications are still very welcome. The role can be shaped around your long-term aspirations.
What you will be doing
As a Health & Safety Consultant, you will work closely with Construction and Facilities Management clients across a broad range of projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing competent Health & Safety advice during design and pre-construction phases
Supporting clients, designers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015
Conducting design risk reviews and hazard identification workshops
Preparing and maintaining Pre-Construction Information and Health & Safety Files
Developing Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Undertaking site inspections and audits across live construction environments
Providing ongoing Health & Safety support to contractors and sub-contractors
Monitoring statutory compliance for large property-owning organisations across the UK and Northern Ireland
This is a hands-on consultancy role that combines technical competence with strong client engagement.
What you will need to be considered
To be successful in this Health & Safety Consultant role, you will need:
Experience in a Health and Safety position within a Construction environment
Proven experience auditing construction sites and producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Ideally, experience preparing Pre-Construction Information
A strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
The confidence to engage with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders
