This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, practical HSE professional to join a high-performing and well-structured business where health and safety is genuinely embedded into operations, leadership, and decision-making.

The opportunity

This Health and Safety Advisor job offers a balanced mix of site-based and flexible working, supporting complex engineering and construction environments where strong judgement, credibility, and professionalism are essential.

You will be trusted to manage your own diary, engage directly with operational teams and clients, and provide pragmatic health and safety advice across live projects. The business is led by a Managing Director with a health and safety background, ensuring HSE is not just a compliance function but a core value of the organisation.

This position will suit you if:

  • You want to work for a business that genuinely lives its safety values

  • You enjoy operating in a practical, client-facing Health and Safety role

  • You are comfortable working autonomously and managing your own workload

  • You have experience within construction, engineering, or similarly high-risk operational environments

  • You enjoy building trusted relationships with both site teams and clients

  • You are looking for long-term development within a supportive, professional organisation

What you will be doing

As Health and Safety Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing competent, practical health and safety advice across live client sites and projects

  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and compliance assessments

  • Advising on health and safety legislation within engineering and construction environments, including CDM-heavy projects

  • Supporting operational teams and clients through effective stakeholder management

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental standards across the region

  • Operating within live environments where credibility, judgement, and professionalism are critical

What you will need

To be considered for this Health and Safety Advisor position, you will need:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)

  • A full UK driving licence

  • Experience within construction, engineering, or a sector with a comparable risk profile

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders

  • The ability to work autonomously within a delivery-focused organisation

  • Willingness to travel regionally, including occasional overnight stays

Salary and benefits package

This role offers a highly competitive package, including:

  • Basic salary of £45,000

  • £6,000 car allowance

  • 10% annual bonus

  • 33 days annual leave

  • Pension scheme

  • Private healthcare

  • Employee Assistance Programme

  • Fully funded CPD and ongoing training support

  • 40-hour working week with flexible, autonomous diary management
