Search² is supporting an established, family-owned engineering and manufacturing business in the appointment of a Health & Safety Manager.


This is a permanent opportunity based in Somerset - south of Weston-super-Mare, offering a salary of £55,000 to £60,000 plus benefits package.


The business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of construction-related products, combining long-standing family values with ambitious growth plans and continued investment in its people.


The Opportunity

This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director.

You will take full ownership of the health, safety and wellbeing agenda across the organisation, influencing decision-making at senior level and shaping how safety is embedded across both manufacturing and site-based operations.


This role would suit someone who wants genuine ownership rather than a narrow advisory position.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Leading and developing the company’s Health & Safety strategy

  • Driving a positive and proactive safety culture across the business

  • Ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation

  • Supporting senior management and operational teams with practical guidance

  • Managing audits, inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions

  • Developing policies, procedures, training programmes and performance metrics

  • Maintaining visibility across workshop, manufacturing and installation operations

  • Leading health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation


What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this Health & Safety Manager job, you should have:

  • Experience in a Health & Safety leadership role

  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, construction, installation or a related sector

  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification preferred

  • Confidence operating across both manufacturing and site environments

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
