Working alongside key stakeholders, you will help ensure health and safety standards remain high throughout the project lifecycle while supporting the safe delivery of complex construction activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant who enjoys influencing safety culture, analysing performance and driving improvements across major projects.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Health & Safety Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out health and safety inspections and assurance reviews

  • Monitoring contractor and subcontractor safety performance

  • Tracking corrective actions and ensuring effective close-out

  • Supporting incident investigations and lessons learned activities

  • Identifying emerging risks and escalating concerns appropriately

  • Participating in health and safety meetings with project stakeholders

  • Producing clear and accurate reports on safety performance

  • Supporting the management of high-risk activities and contractor interfaces

  • Reviewing permit-controlled works and associated controls

  • Driving continuous improvement across project safety performance

The role requires a balance of technical competence, stakeholder management and practical decision-making.

What We Are Looking For

To be considered for this Health & Safety Consultant contract role, you should possess:

  • Strong construction health and safety experience

  • Previous consultancy, assurance or project oversight experience

  • Experience working on multi-contractor environments

  • Strong auditing, inspection and compliance skills

  • Incident investigation and risk management experience

  • Confidence engaging with project teams, contractors and supply chain partners

  • A pragmatic and commercially aware approach to health and safety

  • Availability to start quickly

Experience within major construction, infrastructure or other complex project environments would be highly advantageous.

Why Consider This Contract?

The demand for experienced Health & Safety Consultants continues to grow across the construction and infrastructure sectors, particularly for professionals capable of operating independently and providing credible assurance support.

This opportunity offers:

  • Outside IR35 engagement

  • Competitive day rate of £300-£350

  • Major project exposure

  • Immediate start

  • Opportunity to work within a specialist consultancy environment
