Search² is supporting a specialist manufacturing and engineering business as they look to appoint an experienced Health and Safety Advisor on an initial contract basis.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established organisation that designs, manufactures and delivers specialist engineering solutions used across critical infrastructure and industrial sectors throughout the UK.

The business has built a strong reputation within its niche, combining technical expertise with a practical, hands-on approach to project delivery. As demand continues to grow, they require additional Health and Safety support to help maintain high standards across their operational and manufacturing activities.

The Opportunity

This role will suit an experienced Health and Safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and influencing safety performance within a manufacturing and engineering environment.

You will act as a visible presence across the business, supporting managers, supervisors and employees to ensure safe working practices are maintained whilst driving continual improvement.

This is a hands-on advisory role where you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact rather than simply maintain compliance.

What You Will Be Doing

• Providing day-to-day health and safety support across manufacturing, engineering and operational activities

• Conducting workplace inspections, audits and compliance reviews

• Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis

• Assisting with risk assessments, safe systems of work and method statements

• Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring effective close-out

• Supporting contractor management activities

• Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings where required

• Identifying opportunities for continual improvement across health and safety performance

• Supporting compliance with relevant legislation and internal management systems

• Building positive relationships with managers, employees and contractors

What You Will Need

• Previous experience within a Health and Safety Advisor position

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification

• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial or operational environments

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Experience undertaking audits, inspections and incident investigations

• A practical and pragmatic approach to health and safety

• Ability to start within a short timeframe

Package

• £350 - £400 per day

• Outside of IR35

• Immediate start available

• Sheffield-based contract
